The memorial podcast to Ben Rockwell was released on "A Day in the Life" on March 26, 2026. Here's a link to the podcast for streaming. We attended a service that was only available to people invited, and I give my thoughts, a history of his life, play a track he enjoyed and play a track of my choosing that fits the mood.

The big question people may want to know is how I got started with Los Angeles Metro in the first place. I've been reading the blog known as The Source, and they talked about something that didn't work at the time for me. So I posted a comment, which led them to reach out.
After that got resolved, I was emailed by a member of staff asking if I wanted to be on the Accessibility Advisory Committee. They sent a braille packet which I read, translated into print and sent files after making the decision to apply. I was accepted and joined my first meeting in September 2014. I've been there since.
Since then, I've been involved in other committees, including The Public Safety Advisory Committee as a member of the public, the operations and board meetings as part of the board agenda package and have assisted on projects dealing with wayfinding and app accessibility.
More recently, I've been asked to go to the San Fernando Service Council meetings, one of 5 different service councils in Los Angeles County. I started that in August of 2024. The full calendar of events can give you all of the details as well as to links to agendas if needed. The calendar links to all of their events including some that might be interesting to you.
You may also go to the San Fernando Service Council page here on this site which will also give info about the committee
The Public Safety Advisory Committee (PSAC) started in 2020 and I have been going since its inception by LA Metro. I've started keeping files of their meetings since 2023 when scheduling became a monthly meeting.
I started going to the board meetings since February 2021. Just like PSAC, I go to the operations and board meetings as a member of the public.
This page has been developed so that people can find agendas and other material easier. Some will be hosted through here, while others are hosted through Metro's web site.
There have been times when we needed to find a particular resource, and without knowing the web site, it can be difficult to locate. I hope this web site makes it easier to find the information and resources related to the work I am involved in.
While we've linked to the Metro Calendar, it can be a bit confusing, so I've decided to make it easier to find things I'm involved in and others might too. If you'd like to see something that isn't listed, let me know!
Any files hosted herein are the property of Los Angeles Metro, and not Jared Rimer. Links will be to Metro properties where applicable. Most files they provide are PDF, but the AAC provides Word files as well. Where applicable, files linked directly on this web site or hosted externally will include file size information.
If time permits, Jared Rimer will provide braille files formatted in 40-cell format for braille displays. These will include the agenda as presented, minus Spanish portions. Since UEB is the current standard, files will be provided in UEB, with EBAE versions also available.
Instructions on how to download files are provided on all pages where links to said files will be. If you need files sent as attachments, please contact Jared using the contact information found at the bottom of all pages.
The blog has lots of information that could be of interest. I've been reading it for many years. This section of the web site will have those posts that might be of interest. The Source is the English version of the blog, while El Pasajero is the spanish version. In the following list, you'll find English versions of posts that might be of interest including detours, delays and posts on construction that might affect routes of people taking the system.
Some of the items may come from other news sources based in los Angeles that might also be of interest to you.
All items are marked with the source of where it was taken.
If you find that you read something that is out of date, please contact Jared by Email, text or phone call to let him know. Information on contact info is at the bottom of each page of this web site.
All items are in date order, although not specificly dated here on the site.
This is the end of the blog posts. If we find anything else, it'll be added here. Again, if something is out of date, let us know.
