In March, 2026, the Metro board convened and passed in consent what is known as the Code of Conduct for Advisory Bodies.

The Board adopted the Code as Item 21 on the consent agenda.

In subsequent months, each committee listed in the Code of Conduct got a presentation from staff explaining why it was developed. Questions were taken and answers were provided.

After presentations were given, each committee incorporated the Code into its policies and procedures and began operating under it.

In May, the Ethics Department came to present to the AAC about the Code of Conduct. In June, the AAC discussed the Code. During the discussion, it was clarified that this was not a voting item. The Code aligns all advisory bodies, regardless of bylaws, to a single code of conduct which is to be followed. It supersedes anything that might conflict with bylaws established by any committee.
